Office Decor



Time is not my companion - we don't have a lot of one-on-one without being filled with other priorities.

I miss writing. I like crafting and creating.

This was a rushed job, but turned out just the way I imagined.

An unappealing gold flecked metal frame turned antiqued white - scrapbook page backing and petals from a flower I saved from a bouquet of lillies my husband sent me while courting.

Mum's Birthday Present

I tried a new crochet pattern I found on Pinterest.

Since I had this huge spool of yarn (purchased from a thrift store) that needed to be tried out too it seemed like a good combination.

So, for the past several weeks during evening TV watching, I attempted the project. I had to rip it out a couple of times to get the hang of it, but finally got it going.

It's so feather-light yet warm when wrapped around your neck. I'm hoping Mum will enjoy it.

Jumping on the Repurposing Wagon

I've checked out the CD repurposing ideas on Pinterest. Most seem kind of tacky, but what do expect for a "donut disc" that is pretty much a dead giveaway upon first sight?

I'm experimenting with a few ideas to see what I can do.

I showed my husband my yarn-wrapped crochet base when he came home last night.  He asked what I was going to do with it. I had no answer - then realized I just wasted my evening doing the crochet/yarn wrap thing when I could have actually been working on my real crochet project.

My other challenge is to come up with a repurposing for the obsolete Iomega Zip Disks. I'm really stumped on this one.
